The system is fully integrated, providing a user-friendly interface to perform all hospital functions covering medical/clinical, financial, treasury and administrative/ management modules. The information system is capable of producing all sorts of clinical reports, patient data, financial reports and treasury functions. Case Study No. 1
Sandra Cookies
This exercise may be undertaken on an individual or group basis.
Sandra Cookies is an Australian company which operates in the main population centres in every state and territory. You have been retained by Sandra Cookies to produce an outline plan which describes the basic means of operation of the marketing and delivery side of the business and to identify the basic technology and strategies that are required to improve competitiveness. The following is information you need to know about Sandra Cookies before you can begin.
· Sandra Cookies makes preservative free cookies. The shelf life of these cookies is no longer than seven days. Old stock is removed when the delivery drivers replenish the shelves. Delivering more than can be sold to an outlet means waste since they operate on a sale or return basis. Delivering insufficient stock will result in lost sales.
· The shopkeeper receives an invoice within 14 days and has 28 days to pay.
· Sales are good, the company is profitable and Sandra Cookies make a high quality organic product.
· The Sandra Cookie fleet of trucks deliver to each shop which sells Sandra Cookies twice per week on average.
· Sandra Cookies currently operate manual systems for delivery and marketing, drivers come into the bakeries collect their loads and then plan their own delivery routes.
· Sandra Cookies operates statewide over 700 outlets.
· Strategically Sandra Cookies would like to able to market more effectively at the individual outlet level.
· Ideally the new operating plan should save money and time and help the company become more efficient.
Consider the problem from a number of different perspectives; the driver's. the shopkeeper's and the marketer's. Do not get bogged down in technical detail, a high level view is what is required here.
